Favorite Bible Verse:

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

About me
It was a real blessing for me to serve the Lord in the children ministry department with Thai Outreach Church for the last 20 years. I have seen so much of God's grace and love through the lives of all the children each week. They have brought so much love and joy to my life (surely sometime troubles!), but I have never regreted all the times I had spent with them. I am looking forward to serve the Lord in any way I can in order to "TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE WAY HE SHOUD GO".

Hebrews 4:12-13
" For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."

4. Goals for 2009:

  • Get students more interested in God and His Word.
  • Help students develop good character.
  • Be a good role model for my students.
  • Pray more for Sunday School.

5. Currently... I am a full-time student at California State University, Northridge.  I’m working on my theatre degree.  When I graduate, I would like

to teach young folks a bit about theatre.

Profile:

My fear of death led me to accept Christ when I was six.  My mother told me, as long as I believed in Jesus Christ I would be saved, so I accepted Christ into my heart. I never felt more happier than when I was little, because that was when I felt closest to God.  Now as I grow older, I long for that childlike faith.  I was recruited onto the Sunday School team 4 years ago and have been teaching ever since.  Teaching Sunday School can sometimes be challenging, but it’s always rewarding.  As I’m teaching, I’m also learning a lot from my students. I’ve learned that I complicate the most simple things.  I never thought that I’d have to explain in simple terms what faith and holiness meant, until I began teaching Sunday School. Teaching Sunday School is just good spiritual exercise.

1. Favorite Bible Verse:

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that sufering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." [Romans 5:3-5]

2. Favorite Movie:

Count of Monte Cristo
[FYI: I haven't seen too many movies in my life.  Also, the story of Monte Cristo is about revenge--which I would question posting if its a Christian theme you are trying to protray.  However, the novel from which the story comes from....speaks to primal behavior in all of us and the urge to have revenge on those who have wronged us.   For a long time prior to coming to Christ....revenge was my motivation for success.]

Profile:

Came to Christ by discovering that "Worldly" achievements did not fulfill my longing as compared to the love of Jesus.  God has blessed me with everything such as the biblical character Job.

On a related note,  I would urge people to join the Sunday School Ministry as it is a great opportunity to help young people learn about our Savior Jesus Christ and also enriched Your life. For me, I never thought to be a teacher teaching Jesus Christ to others as my own life experiences have not been the ideal Christian model.  Surprisingly, an opportunity arose for me to help teach a Sunday School class -- which in retrospect was a calling by God.  You will find out that your biblical knowledge is not the only lesson to teach these young people  but, your experiences of life in making them better people.  Also, you will experience the sense of aspiring your students to be "great" and seeing "glitter" in their eyes as they learn something new.  Indeed there will be some challenging times with mis-behavior in class, however that is overshadowed by the knowledge that You are doing something good to better some young person's life by teaching them about Jesus and Christian morals to live by.  In closing, a bible verse from the book of Acts..."In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to recieve. [Acts 20:35]"  Please "listen" to God's calling and take action.

Profile:

I accepted Christ when I was very small, about the age of 6 or 7 at a Thai Outreach retreat along with my sisters.  I have two wonderful older sisters that now live in Thailand.  One of them is Joy, she is currently working at a bank and the other is Jes, she is a full time missionary in northern Thailand.  I not only married beautiful wife but she loves God more than me!!! I am currently still going to school at Point Loma Nazarene University, working on my Ed. Specialist Degree.  I'm not sure what God has planned for me in the future, but one thing I know for sure, He was called me to serve in our Sunday School.
